The Lily Cafe was my first blog, the first place I ever shared my writings with people I didn’t know. It suffered when my first baby was born, as I struggled to write and be a good mother. Even though I recently started a book blog and now have a second baby, I long for the fulfillment The Lily Cafe gave me just a few years ago.
Not too long ago, the Cafe temporarily closed. Now I am happy to announce it will be back soon!
Of course, it will not be the same Cafe. With time and the chaos that comes with kids, I have learned to integrate myself better. I used to be a master compartmentalizer. My food didn’t even touch each other. But kids make life messy. So, The Lily Cafe will now feature more than just stories and poetry.
I’ll be honest. I don’t even know how I came up with The Lily Cafe. I love lilies. But a cafe? It had nothing to do with food. Now I am taking a page from the food and restaurant industry with daily specials.
Mondays will be my Mother Mondays where I share my journey into motherhood and what I have learned so far. Anything related to kids is fair game on Mondays.
Tuesdays…well, I’m going to call it the Kitchen Sink. I lacked a solid fifth idea, so Tuesdays will be more of a hodge podge of, well, anything. Whatever I feel like rambling on about for the week, I suppose.
Wednesdays will be my Writing Wednesdays. With luck, I might have pulled something from my writing files. Or maybe someone out there would like to share their writings on The Lily Cafe? Either way, this one is bound to be hit and miss, but later on I hope to have fresh tales. The wheels are spinning…
My book blog will find its new home on Thursdays as Bookish Thursdays. Following a day of writings will be a day devoted to books. On this day there will be book reviews and other book-related ramblings.
So, this is a cafe, right? For the first time, I have decided to actually feature food. Welcome to Food Fridays! It just made sense. Cafe…food… Since I cook and bake a lot, I will be highlighting recipes from around the web that my family enjoys, including tweaks that my mother and I have made. Maybe even a few made up things.
So, keep an eye out! The Lily Cafe is set to open New Years Day!
