I don’t drink coffee, but the Coffeehouse Mysteries by Cleo Coyle are some of my favorite books. They feature a coffeehouse manager who solved crimes with her detective fiance, ex-husband who is the coffeehouse’s coffee buyer, and sometimes her ex-mother-in-law Madame.

An octogenarian who survived Nazi Europe, coming to America and losing family members, the Great Depression, and the deaths of two husbands, this woman still has a sunny outlook on life. She has survived everything and done it with style. Oh, how I hope to carry myself through life like her!

Life is tough. It can dish out some seriously soul crushing stuff. But it can be survived, and done with grace. Take the good and the bad and be thankful for what you have.
