Ah, the cares of tomorrow can wait ’til this day is done.
-Come by the Hills by W. Gordon Smith
I sang mostly children’s rhymes to my son at bedtime, but I love Celtic music, so chose to sing Celtic songs to my daughter. Come by the Hills is one of them. I’m not sure what it’s supposed to mean, but I like to think it means to deal with the current day and worry about tomorrow tomorrow.
Singing this to my daughter is kind of my wish for her. I grew up constantly worrying about tomorrow, next week, next year, 10 years from then. It was exhausting and sometimes anxiety-inducing. I didn’t wish that on my little girl. Instead, I’d like to impress on her that tomorrow can wait until tomorrow and to just deal with whatever is going on right now. Be present and not worry so much.
We’ll see how that works out since she’s only 1 right now.

I really like that quote. I have something similar tattoed on my neck.

It’s a good reminder to be present in the morning and not worry so much about the future. Tomorrow can wait until tomorrow.
