It’s time for another week off from the blog!
I always enjoy my blogging breaks, but I’m definitely going to enjoy this one even more. I’m exhausted and in desperate need of a break. Distance learning with a 6 year old is…well, distance learning with a 6 year old. The mornings are tough because I have to divide my attention between making sure he stays on task and keeping my toddler entertained and quiet. I’m worn out by noon, and blogging honestly doesn’t feel nearly as interesting as just curling up with a book.
Speaking of books, I finally organized my reading and review schedule properly so I have time to read books I’m not obligated to review this year! I was disappointed last year when I realized I had no time, so I’m really excited about how everything has worked out this year. Especially since I have books like The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon and The Invisible Life of Addie LaRoux by V. E. Schwab staring at me, accusing me. I’m also feeling a big need for a big hug, so I’m dying to dive into rereading my favorite cozy mystery series. Even though I’ve never had a drop of coffee, I still adore The Coffeehouse Mysteries by Cleo Coyle, and have loved them for 15 years. There are 18 books so far and they really are some of my comfort reads. A cornerstone of my reading life, if you will.
So, yes, I’m desperately looking forward to this coming week. I do plan on finally finishing up some reviews (read: a lot) and sort of staying active on Instagram, but I think I’ll be devoting most of my free time to reading and staring at walls. There are too many thoughts building up in my head and I need blank walls to stare out so I can finally get them out of there.

I really enjoyed it and it offers a lot of options and things to think about when we do recommend books, which is so important as we do wield some power. And, thanks, so do I!
Staring at the walls is an awesome pastime. I do it every chance I get. 🙂
I can’t wait to have a whole week to do more of it.
