Announcement

The end of July was tough for me and my whole family and came at a time when I was starting to question my blogging journey.

Now, I don’t intend on stopping since I really enjoy it, but I  plan on going back to work and starting lots of neat things professionally within the next year, which will take time away from blogging. I see the lack of time and see it would be easier to stop.

Apparently, I don’t like making things easy for myself. But I have a plan! Sort of.

Announcement 1:

If you’ve been following for awhile, you might know I’ve been working with branding The Lily Cafe. I’ve toyed with self-hosting and monetizing. But my heart was never really in it. I really love blogging and want to keep it that way. It’s for me to share me and my life, as much of it as I care to share. It’s a way for me to interact and connect and I love finding like minded people as well as people with a different perspective.

So The Lily Cafe is going to STOP with the branding. It won’t go any further. Social media will be hit and miss. The Husband will continue his strange ramblings. Most of all, we’re going to enjoy the journey and see where it takes us.

Also, I’m going to slow down posting as I prepare (early) for my return to the workforce. It’ll also help my brain relax so I don’t see a blog post in everything I do and can instead just enjoy doing what I do. And it’ll give me much needed time to work on other projects.

You can still expect to hear from The Husband most Saturdays. But I will be posting only on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays starting next week.

Announcement 2:

I’m not crazy. Just a mom with too many mom related posts I want to write, but don’t have enough space to share it on The Lily Cafe.

So I’m starting a dedicated blog about motherhood. I’ll be posting on Tuesdays and Thursdays and there will likely be some cross posting. But I hope to focus on the way I parent, what I learn as a parent and what my kids teach me, and just really share my journey as I struggle to relate to many mom blogs that I read and follow. It makes me feel like not a typical mom, but I hope to celebrate all ways of parenting as there is no right or wrong way.

If you’re curious, the first post is scheduled for August 14th over at Not The Typical Mom.

P.S. I’d love to have contributors who are interested in sharing their stories!

I’ve had thoughts about monetising my blog, and how it might help me get known as a writer and none of it has come to anything but those connections you make with other bloggers such as yourself have value, and that is why I keep posting. I always enjoy your blog 🙂

Yes, those connections are invaluable. Creating meaningful relationships with other bloggers and growing a loyal group of readers will always be more heartwarming than doing something just to make money. Even though you don’t post as often anymore, I still hop on every story you write and get a good smile or chuckle. Thank you so much for your lovely comment!

I cut back to M/W/F after months of five days a week, 800 – 1200 words per day tedium. I figure if I’m going to invest so much of myself into writing, I better take a day off here and there to actually promote my site. So I’m hoping to use Tuesdays and Thursdays for Pinterest/Social Media to try to drive a bit more traffic M/W/F and not wear myself out.

I like your decision! I think you’ll enjoy it!

All I can say is, you go girl! No matter what, how or when, I look forward to the content you share. I’m sure these works in progress will be beneficial. Women are an incredible. Wishing you the best!

Thank you so much! Your support means the world to me! I certainly hope to be able to share some of my projects soon. Yes, absolutely, women are incredible beings! It’s amazing what we can go through and still come out alive and smiling.
