Creme Brulee – inspired by The Secret French Recipes of Sophie Valroux by Samantha Verant, a delicious novel about one woman’s culinary career going up in flames in NYC and her rediscovery of her love of food when she travels to her family’s chateau in France, which her grandmother transformed into two restaurants and a hotel.

Ginger Cake – inspired by The Angel of Bishopsgate by Eloise Reuben, an historical thriller set in 1840s London and Dublin where the villainous Angel of Bishopsgate has it out for poor Tessie, who bakes ginger cakes for a living, and her husband Finn.
