Everyone Has a Story

Everyone Has a Story

Whether a bit of non-fiction or a piece of fiction, everyone has a story to tell. Whether writer, author, or neither, everyone has words to share.

The Lily Cafe is a small blog, but I’d like it to be a place for anyone with a story. I can’t guarantee thousands of people will see it, but I can guarantee an audience.

If you have a story you’d like to share or a guest post you’d like to write, I’d like to invite you to visit the Submit page.

Sincerely, Kat

    • Haha, for some reason I really enjoy supporting people and their writing endeavors even though I have a bad habit of ripping apart books. Shall we swap a story for a story? I’d love to have you on here, too.

      • 😀 I can’t commit to much at the moment; I’d hate for you to depend on me.

Would you want an assignment topic or just a free write?

      • I completely understand. Whenever you do have time, I’d love to have you here.

An assignment topic would probably be best. Haha, the thought of a free write makes my brain freeze.

      • All righty. Here are some to consider:
        1. Raising children the same or differently than you were.
        2. What chores young children can handle.
        3. How much screen time is too much and how you’re seen its affects on your kids.
        4. What “mom time” really means.
        5. How to keep your relationship with your husband while kids are climbing on you.

Any others you think of are great, too! And, I will definitely come up with different titles than these listed.

      • 1 is really tempting as I spend much of my days thinking about it, and I can already think of some funny ways to take 4, but 3 has been really relevant to us lately, so I’ll probably write about screen time. Any set date I should have it to you by?

      • Haha, okay, I’ll get it to you soon-ish. I like to pretend I’m on top of everything, but, somehow, my oldest being in school means I’ve lost hours.

      • If you happen to have some time, I’d love to have something from you. Personally, I’m dying to know how you survive with 4 kids, but I know a lot of the moms who follow me have young kids or are first time moms, so I’d love to know if you have any tips, especially sanity saving ones. Or if you have any funny or otherwise mom stories. I imagine with all boys life must be interesting.

      • That’s … a lot of ground to cover there. 😀

I could include a snippet I have in my WIP (that I haven’t touched in a good year). I think it was titled “My Son is Naked and on Top of the Car.”

      • Haha, I’d love to know what that was about! You’ve already covered a great deal of interesting topics on your blog, so, if it’s easier, I’m happy to share or repost one. Though since school has recently started, maybe any tips for getting kids to do their homework would be awesome. Or is it always like pulling teeth?

      • Man; a lot of those are dependent on the kid’s personality.

I’ll think about that one and try to get back to you soon.

      • No rush. I know you’re busy and I appreciate your willingness to even consider writing anything. I’d love to know how you manage to do everything.

    • Thank you so much! It’s still a work in progress, but I love that it feels more streamlined. There are so many amazing writers out there and I just hope I can give them a larger voice.
