Guest Post: Fairy Tale Romance by I. L. Cruz

The Lily Cafe is thrilled to welcome I. L. Cruz! She is the author of The Enchanted Isles series, an enchanting Latin-inspired fantasy series. Currently, the first two books, A Smuggler’s Path and A Noble’s Path, are available for purchase (see below). I adore I. L. Cruz, her books, and her blog, Fairy Tale Feminista, because she takes a different approach to looking at and understanding fairy tales. Her posts are fun, informative, and thought-provoking. Enjoy her guest post below about fairy tales and romance, just as I did! Fairy Tale Romance We are quickly approaching Valentine’s Day (what happened to January?) and that means thinking about love and romance. For some, it…

  • 3 Quotes, 3 Days Challenge – Day 1

Esse Quam Videri “Vice in abundance is easy to choose, The road is smooth and it lies very near, While the gods have set sweat before virtue, And it is a long road, rough and steep.” The Republic of Plato In this time where truth and untruth are blurred (though it is clear to some) there is a need for society to reflect and determine what our values truly are. We must look to the past to learn from it; we must focus on the present to continue on the right path; we must look to the future to determine who we are, where we want to be, what is…

  • There’s a Story Dedicated to Me!

One of my favorite things about blogging is coming into contact with some amazing people. Amazing, wonderful, creative people. As a writer, I enjoy writers’ blogs and find as many as I csn, especially fantasy. Well, one of my new favorite fantasy writers is Kaiya Hart over at Darkwood. When she first started, she hooked me with her writings about forests. Now she does these Daily Riffs (head on over here for today’s) that often have my head exploding, screaming, or dreaming. Or all 3. I’m going to tell you now that you, whether you’re a writer or not, should go and check them out and follow so you don’t…

  • Nominate This Book on Kindle Scout

I have a not so small obsession with Kindle Scout, which is run by Amazon and offers publication to a select few novels, but these novels need nominations to be brought to their attention. A few weeks ago, I came across this book and the author’s blog. I, for one, hope to read this one day. Do at least consider taking a look, especially if you enjoy science fiction and fantasy, and nominate this book! The Kindle Scout campaign for In the Abyss ends on March 12th, 2018, and every nomination counts. If you haven’t nominated In the Abyss yet, follow this link to nominate. Or, you can copy and…
